A. The Baldwin 0395 is meant to be installed vertically. It can be installed horizontally but it will depend on the installation. If installed horizontally it is best to use it on a sliding door.

A. A router is the best method for consistent depth, but you'll still need to chisel the edges to square them. You can use a wood chisel alone, but consistent depth is always an issue for anyone but the most experienced woodworkers.
