EXCELLENT Doorset for Internal Privacy I bought this superb doorset in polished chrome and it looks absolutely fantastic in my bathroom. As you can see in the photo, there is an inside push-pin for the locking mechanism (with even a tiny optional extender shaft included for maximum compatibility with your door). The outside cover plate has a small hole for exterior unlock/safety, and it works perfectly fine. Baldwin knobs are somewhat heavy and therefore feel very solid in your hand. The exterior finish is of the highest quality and this doorset is obviously built to last a VERY long time. Installation is very easy and the end-result will be a very well-built doorset on the door to your bathroom, but make sure all the internal parts (lever-set and exterior round mounting brackets) are solid and true before mounting the outside round covers. I expect they are somewhat difficult to remove once they're compression-snapped onto their mounting plates. Also be aware the locking mechanism is spring-loaded and you may hear a very slight "mechanical sound" made when closing the unlocked door as the spring releases and the slide-lever latches into the strike plate. The strike plate and the lever close-out plate are also supplied in the same superb finish as the knobs and covers. For internal privacy applications, this is simply an excellent doorset. Can you describe the polished brass and chrome finish look like?

A. Whenever you see a finish with two options (such as polished brass x chrome), this means it's a split finish lock relative to the sides of the door (outside x inside). In this case polished brass x chrome means the polished brass is on the outside and the chrome (locking) is on the inside.

When you mix finishes, how do I know which side will be which? What finish is the strike plate?

A. For split finishes the outside finish is listed first then the interior finish. The strike plate would be that inside finish as that is the side on which the strike lip will show.
