What is the difference between "Lifetime Satin Nickel & Satin Nickel??

A. The Baldwin 5455.PRIV in Lifetime Satin Nickel is put through an additional coating that warrants the finish against corrosion, flaking and fading for life. The standard Satin Nickel has a one year warranty for exterior knobs, five years for interior.

How does the emergency lock release on the exterior side work? If the door is locked, how easy is it to open the door from the exterior side?

A. Thank you for your question. The Baldwin 5455.PRIV functions like most any privacy handlesets, on the inside there is a small thumb-latch, on the outside there is a small key-hole that can be used to unlock the door if necessary. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Are the screws visible on the Rose or do you install the Rose after the screws?

A. The screws on the Baldwin 5455.PRIV are not showing, except the set screw to install the lever and the privacy button.
