Does this unit soft close? can it be retrofitted to existing cabinet face?

A. The Hafele 503.12.784 is not a soft close. It is simply a ball bearing slide. Yes this could be retrofitted with a different face.

I'm confused about the width -- will this fit in a basic 18" cabinet base. My current pull out for this cabinet has a width of 13 3/8 about 2" wider but depth and hght are the same. Is the width measuement the width of the rail system or of the trash bins?

A. This item should have enough room to fit an 18" base cabinet.
