What is the length of extension part (from behind the round ball to the extension excluding the carriage), in other words how much it can stick out from the shelf w/o the ball area?

A. The Rev-A-Shelf CVR-14 has an extension of 8" from the edge of the housing to the end of the ball, so about 7.5" not including the ball. The housing is about 13.75" deep and can be installed farther back for less projection, if there is room in the closet.
